If you ha ve used the Wind ows di al-up net work for In ter net ac cess up to now, this con nec ti on was al ways estab lis hed
as a »Di al-up con nec ti on« (ana log or ISDN). Set-up and ter mi na ti on of an In ter net con nec ti on was in itia ted au to ma -
ti cal ly by the programs.
If you set up an In ter net con nec ti on via the PABX sys tem rou ter, this re pre sents a nor mal net work con nec ti on for
each PC. If a PC wants to use an In ter net con nec ti on the net work rou ter, which acts as a gate way and estab lis hes con -
nec tions to ot her net works, is in form ed of this. The rou ter, in our ex am ple he re the PABX sys tem, then sets up a con -
nec ti on to one of the In ter net ser vi ce pro vi ders that has been con fi gu red. As de fi ned in the con fi gu ra ti on for the
PABX sys tem, this con nec ti on is estab lis hed/ter mi na ted au to ma ti cal ly. The In ter net service provider is configured
using the PABX system’s Configurator.
